As long as there has been home fragrance, there has been a plethora of fragrance notes to choose from: from florals, to citrus, to spices, and everything in between: fragrance crafters have been obsessed with finding and perfecting that special fragrance that speaks to us as humans, and provokes our memories, thoughts and feelings. I am no different; I am (and have long been) fascinated by fragrance; and how it makes a person feel, and how it has the uncanny ability to transform my mood.
What I am wondering today though is this: does your idea of the the perfect home fragrance change with the seasons or your mood; or does it stay the same?
Personally, I would have to say that my perfect home fragrance changes with my mood, or with the seasons. Right now, I am loving the smells of freshness and citrus; I find myself gravitating to the light, crisp and herbaceous notes found in several of our aroma lamp fragrances; probably because it reminds me that the days are sunny, the grass is growing, and the trees are springing forth with their new leaves; in particular, Lemon Zest, Panda's Paradise or Florida Orchard Breeze seem to be my personal favourites of the moment.
But, did you also know that citrus has other benefits as well - (other than smelling fantastic)? The smell of citrus with its sparkling, light, and zesty notes seems to energize us and could be exactly the pick me up needed for when you need a little bit of a boost to get some work or chores done. (Hmmm - perhaps I should have them effusing 24/7, so I can "really" get some things done!)
At any rate, citrus scents are some of the most versatile around, and because they blend with so many other notes such as bermamot and lavender for example, they can be used to create so many different complementary aromas; it's a perfect match when the days are warm, the air is fresh, and the sun is shining.
